i run command yum update but it didn't update instead it gives me the following messages:
i'm wondering where would i start on the given options?
as of the moment, i'm trying to setup my new CentOS PC ..

Start by using ping mirrorlist.centos.org and see what the error that you get from that is. Check that your network connection is up and running. Check that your DNS is configured correctly and works.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Error seem to be with internet connection or dns problem.
Have you a proxy?
Internet connection working?
Try to use nslookup to see if you have dns problems.

sorry but it's my fault i haven't activate the enthernet or it's internet connection lol
any way, hope you can still guide me through as i can't put a static IP address ... i'm not sure if i have save it right or not
perhaps a screenshot of the problem will help you understand of it ..

To put static ip there are many methods.
Most simply is to use nmtui. launch nmtui from terminal and edit you active connection.
