Syslog vs Auditd

I would like to know what's the differences between syslog and auditd.

I've found some articles in the net but it's still not clear in my mind .

Um, syslog is a general logger while auditd is an auditing program. Syslog *may* "miss" things, auditd has more definable control as to what can get "missed" when bad things happen.
