Opteron Full Load Turbo

Post by pattim » 2014/08/24 17:06:22

I would also be very interested in a workable solution to this. I am considering switching to CentOS7 for me 6386SE's+SuperMicroMOBO - the Opteron's Full Load Turbo mode is definitely worth obtaining!! I would note that SuperMicro Tech Support lists support for CentOS6 and higher (I forget which dot-number-version) so I assume 7 would work also.

[edit/avij: Topic split from CentOS 6 Hardware Support, 'Opteron 6376 not utilizing Turbo Core' topic -- C6's CPU frequency management is likely vastly different from C7's]

EDIT: Thanks for splitting this - since it was split... Has anyone used CentOS with a SuperMicro MOBO with 63xx CPU's under Full Load Turbo? I'm trying to trouble-shoot a kernel panic whenever I enable CPB (=core performance boost) in BIOS. The reason I'm asking here is because I have tried 3 different Linux distros on this machine and received different stability results for each, and CentOS seemed to be the most stable.
