File system - External SSD

Post by NeysSchreiner » 2014/11/03 19:40:40

Hi guys,

I'm running a Windows7/Centos7 dual boot and I have a 1TB external SSD that I want to use for the bulk of my storage. I also have a Mac, but I don't necessarily need read/write for that OS. My understanding is that there is no truly universal access system and I can either use NTFS or ext4. Either of these would require that I use external drivers to mount the drive each time.

The bulk of my work will be in Windows, so I am trying to install the NTFS-3G driver from Tuxera but I get don't know what command line input to use to mount the drive. How can I find this?

Thanks
Neys

Install ntfs-3g package from epel. Then you need some package for your desktop environment - it depends on your choose - to be able, to mount automatic.
I have an external ntfs drive also. I needed some extra pacgka for mate desktop. Dont remember which.
