Graphics problem

Post by buick1972 » 2014/11/12 03:32:16

I hope this is the right forum, I have a Toshiba laptop from 2008 with 64 bit AMD Turion X2, and a built in X1250 ATI graphics card. My problem is that the graphics are messed up, I have a bunch of triangles in different colors that are displayed, even on the login page. I have the same issue with Fedora 20 Gnome as well and I want to run CentOS 7. I can use CentOS 6.6 just fine. Is my graphic card no longer supported?

Did you check elrepo for drivers?

Yes, updated the entire system, same problem. Also, I can run LXDE, MATE-Compiz, and XFCE just fine on Fedora 20. LXDE is ok, if I could get it to work with CentOS.

So you can use fedora 20 with lxde or mate or xfce? If yes, your problem is gnome3. Change to xfce. It is in the base repo. In epel you can find mate too. But you have to intall it, in console mode. ctrl + alt +f2
