Skylake support in official Centos 7 kernel

Post by Laurie_Userful » 2016/01/27 22:15:51

Does anyone know if the upstream vendor is planning on supporting Skylake in the official kernel in an upcoming release, if so, what time frame?

I'm thinking of buying Skylake soon as well. Looks like support for it is sketchy right now. When is full support going to be rolled out?

As far as I know, Red Hat has not published any information about when Skylake will be fully supported.

If you're willing to dabble in non-official software, I've had some success by installing the latest Main Line kernel from ELrepo, and provided the firmware is up to date, things are not totally awful. Not much of an answer, I admit ...
