Hi everybody.
We have several computers running CentOS 7 with access to an HP ColorLaserJet network printer. Once installed, they seem to work fine but after a while or a reboot color printing are not possible anymore despite any obvious changes in the printer's configuration. (Color enabled, grayscale disabled)
A workaround consists of deleting and reinstalling the printer every time after restart, which is ok for a week or so but it should be possible to handle this more elegantly, I guess.
In this thread viewtopic.php?f=49&t=57185 that also addresses printer issues it is mentioned that the 32-bit version of glibc is missing. This is indeed the case for one of our computers with said problems.
The x86_64 version (Version : 2.17; Release : 106.el7_2.4) is installed. Is there any harm in installing the additional glibc package?
Or has anyone experienced similar problems?
The kernel is 3.10.0-229.1.2.el7.x86_64. Later kernels experience other problems like not booting at all so we are stuck with this version for now. Any hints?
Best regards,
Johannes
