Can't see the second monitor at all (Skylake processor)

Post by aegersz » 2017/07/03 01:26:50

Hi,

I am at work on CentOS 7.2.1511+Gnome 3 and have one VGA port and 2 Displayports on an HP ProDesk 600 G2 MT (Skylake processor).

I have tried all combinations of them (and rebooted each time) and no matter what I do, CentOS can only see one monitor. It works fine with Windows (same box) and my colleagues are also running the exact same version of CentOS and they don't have any issues (other types of PCs though).

Any idea why my system can't support dual monitors ? It's driving me nuts.

I can't see anything in dmesg either.

xrandr -q:

Code: Select all

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 1920 x 1080
default connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1920x1080 0.00*
1280x1024 0.00
1024x768 0.00
800x600 0.00
640x480 0.00
there is also this bug fix but i'm still not sure:

Don't use 7.2 - it's been out of date since 7.3 came out last November. There are many high severity bugs fixed in the last 8 months. Run yum update to get up to date ASAP.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
