Gigabyte GA 970A-UD3, USB 2.0 & 3.0 not working (even keyboard)

Post by bigbanana69 » 2017/07/08 23:01:01

Hi all,

I wanted to install CentOS 7 on my PC, it has Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 (AMD 970 chipset)mobo & Etron USB 3.0 Controller.

USB controllers don't work, I couldn't install and keyboard wasn't working... I couldn't type (usb keyboard).

I tried Ubuntu, 16.04, it doesn't has such problems.

I want CentOS 7.

Please help.

Thanks,

It's a known thing and you need to append amd_iommu=on to the kernel command line to make it work.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
