Hello, I wonder if anyone has ideas how to fix a situation with a rotated screen no longer working after this most recent update. It is a remote machine that worked just fine with a 1920x1080 display rotated 90 degrees. After update and reboot there's the login prompt just fine but when a user tries to log in the screen goes black. I see the below message repeating in /var/log/messages:
Code: Select all
Sep 19 11:20:49 localhost kernel: radeon 0000:01:00.0: evergreen_surface_check_2d:289 cb height 1080 invalid must be aligned with 16
Sep 19 11:20:49 localhost kernel: radeon 0000:01:00.0: evergreen_cs_track_validate_cb:431 cb[0] invalid (0x000000ef 0x00007e8f 0x00190880 0x01088468)
Sep 19 11:20:49 localhost kernel: radeon 0000:01:00.0: evergreen_packet3_check:1949 invalid cmd stream 486
Sep 19 11:20:49 localhost kernel: [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl [radeon]] *ERROR* Invalid command stream !
I created a new user remotely and the local user logged in using that account without issues. As soon as he tried to orient the desktop for the physical display I started seeing the same message and desktop became unresponsive till it reverted back to the horizontal setting.
I reinstalled xorg-x11-drv-ati.x86_64 just in case but that did not help.
/var/log/Xorg.0.log does not show errors or warnings.
What else should I inspect?
