Medion / Clevo S210TU tablet

Post by MartinR » 2017/10/16 08:13:44

I bought a pair of Medion S210TU tablets (aka Clevo S210TU) for my sons about 3 years ago and they have now outgrown them. I'm keeping one as a winbox for software that cannot run under Linux, but would like to upgrade the other, preferably to CentOS. I managed to break into the BIOS but the only boot options are the Windows boot manager or EFI shell. I prepared a USB stick with the netinstall ISO but the BIOS does not see it nor the SD card, however Windows 8.1 sees both. A few questions then:
  • Is what I'm trying to do possible? If so how?
  • Will the touch screen work?
  • If there are problems with CentOS, would people recommend Fedora or some other distro please.
