Issue with switching from dual-monitor to single on laptop

Post by Dofain » 2017/10/24 08:20:42

Hi,

I use a Lenovo E550 at work running last version of CentOS 7, most of the time it is connected to a dock with dual-monitors on DP and DVI.
However, it happens from time to time that I have to use it on the go and this is when the issue appears: I had set-up two taskbars, one for each screen but when using only the laptop screen, they are both on top of one another and I need to remove the top one to access the start menu which is on the bottom one.
The worst part is when I lock my screen, as I have set a background image for my screensaver, it makes both screen on top of each other with the one supporting the login popup under, preventing me from unlocking my session.
I managed to unlock it only by killing X and relogging. For now on, I use 'simple login' as it shows the login popup on any screen.

Checking xrandr shows the laptop screen active and the others inactive.
In system settings, only the laptop screen appears.

Is there anything I can do to make the switch from dual-monitor setup to single flawless?

Thank you
