CentOS 7.4.1708 -RAID 930-8i
Hello,
I'm a new user and thank you for your forum.
I have a problemwith the installation of my Lenovo server.
CentOS 7.4.1708 is unable to find the controller RAID (Lenovo ThinkSystem RAID 930-8i 2GB Flash PCIe 12Gb Adapter) so I don't see any disk (i have created a RAID 5).
I've found:
https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2017:0518 but i can't understand how to make the rpm bootable to perform the first installation.
ive also found this discussion:
https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=12601&history=1
bu also in this case i can't understand how to boot from DVD whit the kernel-plus-3.10.0-514.6.1.el7.bug12601.centos.plus.x86_64.rpm
Could yuo please help me?
Thanks in advance

Re: CentOS 7.4.1708 -RAID 930-8i
Support for that adapter should already be present in the 7.4 kernel used on the installation media. Please post the output from lspci -nn relating to this hardware.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

Unfortunately, lspci -vv omits the one piece of info that I wanted that lspci -nn includes...

That card should be detected and used. Are you sure the array is set up correctly?

Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
The array is configured correctly (With Windows 2012 i'm able to see the array and complete the installation)
Do you have another idea?
Thanks

Re: CentOS 7.4.1708 -RAID 930-8i
Switch to the terminal with a root command prompt on it in the installer (Ctrl-Alt-F2) and run dmesg and look for messages from megaraid_sas as it loads. You could also use lsmod from there to check if it is loaded and modprobe to load it if it isn't.

Hello,
Last night i downloaded again the 1708 iso from a different mirror and now i'm able to see the disks.
I don't know why with the other iso I couldn't see the disks but now the problem is solved.
I thank you for the time you have dedicated to me.
Regards
