Problem installing legacy Matrox G200ew driver

I have installed Centos on a rackmount Supermicro server and it is running fine.
The problem is that the display resolution is terrible at 1024x768. It does not recognize my graphics card.
I have a Matrox G200ew graphics card in the system.
I downloaded legacy drivers for this card from the Matrox site, and when installing it asks for the X11R6 directory.
Investigating further it is looking for mga_drv.o
I understand that X11R6 is not longer used. How can I best resolve this issue?
