Could you see if there's a firmware upgrade?
You could also take out the disks, connect them to non-RAID sata ports and wipe the beginning of the disk.
This may remove any remnants of RAID setups and MBR's.

You could also try booting the CentOS 6 installer as a test to see if that works any better.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
