Centos 7 on rpi 3

Post by rocr » 2018/04/02 16:37:48

Hello,

don't know if this is the right forum, but;

I am installing Centos 7 on an rpi 3 (raspberry 3). From the centos.org pages for that I saw instructions for the 32 bit version. The RPI 3 being 64 bit, is there a 64 bit version? (or is it in the making?).

I did install one of the releases of Centos 7, it seems to work well, had some "post install" wifi issues, but are resolved.

However, the OS doesn't see to detect the on board bluetooth. Any ideas/suggestions there?

thanks,

Ron

The rpi3 images are 32 bit as the 64 bit ones, though they should work in theory, are missing several device drivers to make the hardware function.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

That is what I noticed, the distros for RPI being 32 bit. Is there a time frame for when to go to 64 bit?
