Problem: Applications like skype and audacity are unable to detect the microphone.
What I have tried till now.
Launched pauvcontrol unlocked microphone channels turned front-left channel to zero.
created /etc/modprobe.d/50-alsa.conf with the following content.
options snd-hda-intel index=1,0
my system overview is as follows
head /proc/asound/card*/codec#* -n1
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 <==
Codec: Realtek ALC233
==> /proc/asound/card1/codec#0 <==
Codec: ATI R6xx HDMI
arecord -l
