BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request

Post by saeedh » 2018/06/04 07:16:28

Hi ,
i have two types of hardware that i would like to install 7 (1708) on .
But i'm having a weird crash (see attachment) while trying to install ISO 7 (1708) on some hardware 1 , while 7 (1611) worked fine .
On Hardware 2 both images are fine .

according to the crash i think the problem is with ata and ahci drivers .

So i looked up the SSDs on both to see the difference.
Here are links to the datasheets of both :
this one worked with both images :
http://www.virtium.com/wp-content/uploa ... rief-1.pdf
and this one is the problematic which worked only on 7 (1611):

Does anybody have any idea ? why is that ?
What is causing the crash , and if a certain driver is missing ?

Thanks a lot

That doesn't appear to be a CentOS kernel.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
