Hi,
Can Centos 7.2 be installed on Dell PowerEdge R640 Server?

Re: support for dell servers
CentOS 7.2 has a few years of unfixed security problems - you really should use 7.5.
Re: support for dell servers
If I am not mistaken, the R640 was introduced in autumn 2017. As CentOS 7.2 was released in Dec 2015, chances are that the hardware is not yet fully supported in that old version of CentOS.
With CentOS, only the latest dot release gets security updates. The current version is 7.5, so only the 7.5 version gets updates now.
Don't try 7.2. Use 7.5.

Re: support for dell servers
You cannot use 7.2 on Rx40 machines as the hardware is too new for the kernel.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
