Anyone have recommendations for easy/good wifi adapters that works in CentOS 7? Back in my Fedora days, I had good luck with a couple Encore adapters that worked ut of the box, but that was a long time ago. I now see non that even mention linux.

I just bought a TP-Link with Realtek 8188 - I spent the afternoon trying to build drivers with no real luck getting them working.

Thank you.

You could try the opposite approach. Look at the various kmod drivers that ELRepo provide for wifi devices and then find out which ones have those chips.

Personally I've had good luck with Intel wifi. I had a 62xx chip then changed it for a 72xx one as it supported a higher 'ac' data rate that my wireless AP also supports. But I am fairly sure those are all mini-PCIe not USB so might not be any use to you.

Will check it out. I'd requested USB info because I was unable to get my onboard Intel card going and gave up on it:
