Intel wifi not detected in centos 7

Post by arvindkumar7 » 2019/11/28 23:23:59

Hi,
I am having a tough time to make wifi work. I tried ubantu and centos same thing in both. While centos old version 6.4 detects and works perfect. How I somehow take files out from it and run it in centos 7.
Or please advice how to make it work.
Inter centrino wireless 2230

When I run lspci -vvnn it gives following output, relevant area pasted.

You're not using the wireless. You're in a VM and it has an emulated wired ethernet chipset. So you set up the wireless on the host then set up your virtual network card with settings that will work on your LAN.

CentOS 5 has been EOL for nearly 3 years and should no longer be used for anything!

Trevor,
Please see attached images, wifi adapter is working fine in windows which is host. I am bridging adapters so it should work in VM(centos) also.
I am bridging ethernet and wifi, Ethernet works but wifi does not.

I have ubantu in virtual box and same issue there on same host. Wifi works in host but not in guest. Ethernet works.

Is there any way I can use wifi in guest OS.

Any help is deeply appreciated.
Regards
Arvind

On your HOST you have a wireless connection. On your guest VMs, they are being given a virtual WIRED interface and it is that that you need to configure. Your wireless adapter is not seen or known by the guests at all.
