Can anyone offer a valid reason why any zone containing this subnet should be active on my machine if I am not doing virtualization? I am inquiring, Not criticizing. Just seems to be an available attack surface if I don't actually have any virtualization running on the machine. Perhaps it's a containers thing? I am still catching up on some of the latest technologies.

The default "desktop" install includes gnome-boxes which pulls in libvirt. It's a lightweight virtualisation thing. Easily uninstalled.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
