Internet Connectivity Issue - Dual Boot

Post by Arwa » 2015/04/20 23:16:42

Hi
I have a system with Dual boot Centos 7 & Windows 7.
Everytiime i Login to Centos my Wifi doesn't connect to the internet, only way to connect is to first boot the system to windows then restart and load to Centos 7 (This way my system connects to Wifi immediately without any issue)
Could anyone help me figure out how to fix this issue so i don't have to Boot to Windows system all the time.

Post the output of lspci -nn | grep -i net
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Hi @ TrevorH
Thanks a bunch for looking into this.
Here are the result for lspci -nn | grep -i net

Look at the output from the dmesg command when it does not work and see if you can see anything there that looks like an error. The sort of things I'm thinking about might be that it's searching for a file from /lib/firmware to load into the adapter and not finding it. If you boot windows first and then warm boot into Linux, perhaps windows loads the firmware for you and it survives the reboot.

Hi @TrevorH
To avoid this situation i even clean installed CentOs (Now i don't have Windows OS in machine) - SIngle OS and its CentOS.
Wifi is not connecting.
Not sure how to install or update the wifi Drivers, Please guide.
Tried the steps in this link and still not working
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Wireless/Broadcom

Thanks
