Cannot access samba share from Win 7 PC

Post by johncassell » 2015/08/20 09:32:25

Hi, I've followed the instructions here http://www.liberiangeek.net/2014/07/cre ... -centos-7/ to create my first shared folder and got up to the part where is says "Now go to Windows machine and select Run then type the folder path to access it."

Towards the end of those instructions (not sure what point) I impatiently tried to access the share and it came up asking me for a username and password (nothing was accepted though, not root or my 'John' user). When I got as far as "Now go to Windows.." it would then not let me log on at all. I get the "Windows Cannot Access \\IPADDRESS". I tinkered with it all yesterday and couldn't get access to it but then came in this morning (without making any changes) and it miraculously let me in. However when I rebooted the VM, I lost access to it again. I currently have SELINUX=DISABLED and the firewall turned off.

I've attached my smb.conf in the hope someone can help
Thanks
John

I've reinstalled my VM and followed the instructions here instead and everything is now working great. This way seemed a lot more simplified as well.

Thanks
John
