can't access apache test page with fqdn, but can with IP

Using centos 7 & 6 as virtualbox instances . local dns server is set up corretly and nslookup is working fine. I cannot access apache test page in browser with fqdn of the centos box, but can access using its local IP address.
(I cannot access the apache test page (with fqdn)in my windows machine's browser(google chrome). I have httpd installed on centos virtualbox instance.

If your local dns server is working correctly, then you seem to not be using it.

Or you might have a problem in the VirtualHost if you're using it...
