Stuck with Netatalk

Hi all. I've just installed netatalk following the guidelines from the source forge project but I'm not able to locate the AppleVolumes.default file that I need to edit in order to share folders from a RAID as volumes on a network.

What am I missing? Is this still the way to go or NFS is better nowdays?

I think Apple recently depreciated AFP/ATP. So probably better to use NFS or Samba.

Seems they are in the process. Does anyone knows when this will happen?
