Post by uzzitm » 2017/10/27 19:59:58

Hi guys,

Each day at 05 in the morning my netwok connection gets dropped and reconnect. After some days the connection never comes back and the server need reboot

Code: Select all

Linux 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7.x86_64 x86_64

Code: Select all

Oct 27 05:00:38 server2 kernel: e1000e: em1 NIC Link is Down
Oct 27 05:00:41 server2 NetworkManager[707]: <info> [1509069641.3479] device (em1): link connected
Oct 27 05:00:41 server2 kernel: e1000e: em1 NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex, Flow Control: Rx/Tx
Any ideas?

Where's the other end of the network cable? Perhaps it's the other end that gets rebooted/restarted at 05:00?

thanks for the idea but i have checked, its the router and it does not have a schedule to reboot. Router has 10 days uptime. Even so, why after some days the interface never comes back and the server needs reboot?
Thanks !

If you grep "NIC Link is Down" /var/log/messages near the end of the week (so we see more than one day), is the timestamp nearly identical?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
