CentOS 7: DNS issue

Post by rarenatalka » 2017/12/26 13:33:58

Hello everyone!

I need your help in configuring the DNS on a CentOS 7 installed as an Oracle VM (CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal.iso from [url][https://wiki.centos.org/ru/Download]. Connection type: NAT.

I have configured the following network:
IP address and mask 10.0.10.0/24
Default gateway: 10.0.10.6
VM address: 10.0.10.1
2017-12-26_15-25_CentOS-project.png
2017-12-26_15-25_CentOS-project.png (9.95 KiB) Viewed 594 times
2017-12-26_15-27_CentOS-project.png
2017-12-26_15-27_CentOS-project.png (10.98 KiB) Viewed 594 times
When doing ping, I receive the error as follows:
2017-12-26_15-32_CentOS-project.png
2017-12-26_15-32_CentOS-project.png (4.36 KiB) Viewed 594 times
So, it seems that DNS is not working or the machine is not routed to the Internet.
What do I need to test more or what configurations are to be changed?

Thank you very much for any ideas!

Your problem is not in DNS, but in the network routing.
Is the gateway address 10.0.10.6 correct? Can you connect(or ping) to 10.0.10.6 ? Is that the address of a machine that is allowed to forward your network traffic to other networks?
