Virtualbox: packet loss and cannot ping google.com. Please help

Post by needHelppleasse » 2018/01/22 05:29:10

I can ping 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but pinging google.com does not work. Also it loses every few packets or so. I am on university wifi if that matters.

pinging google.com gives

Code: Select all

ping: google.com: Name or service not known

Are you sure that your university doesn't stop you from using external DNS servers? Perhaps they have one for you to use?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
