Connect Linux client to Windows Print Server...

Postby LinuxLamen » 2018/02/10 16:58:39

Hello everyone,

I have setup a network printer on my Windows Server 2016 machine and i would like to print via my linux client.

I would also like to mention that i want to setup a network printer on my Linux Server and be able to print via both my Linux and Windows 10 client.
That being said i was thinking that doing all this through Samba would be my best option? But i am open to other methods.

Note: I can see the printer when i list Samba shares (not sure if this matters)
[NAME@localhost ~]$ smbclient -L <IP>
Enter SAMBA\NAME's password:
Domain=[DOMAIN] OS=[Windows Server 2016] Server=[Windows Server 2016]

Sharename Type Comment
--------- ---- -------
ADMIN$ Disk Remote Admin
C$ Disk Default share
---> HP5510 Printer (HP Photosmart 5510 series)
NETLOGON Disk Logon server share
print$ Disk Printer Drivers
SYSVOL Disk Logon server share
Users Disk
Connection to <IP> failed (Error NT_STATUS_RESOURCE_NAME_NOT_FOUND)
NetBIOS over TCP disabled -- no workgroup available

I apologize for the lack of information, i am hoping for any tips or advice in making this happen.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
