Hello All!
What is your favorite, or most trusted, network card?
I generally don't have to buy additional NICs, since so many servers have 2 or 4 built-in. I recently purchased a few Intel 82574L cards because a lot of people recommend them. However, I've had 2 intermittent and unexpected hangs of that card on a Dell T20. I will try using the latest driver from Intel, instead of Centos 7's "stock" e1000e driver, but I am amazed at how many problems are reported for Intel's supposedly "high-performance" NICs. The issues are reported for various versions of Windoze as well as Linux.
Please share with everyone: which PCIe gigabit network card do you prefer and trust to just work without problems or issues?
Thanks!
What's your favorite network card?
Re: What's your favorite network card?
Any Intel card except the 82574 or 82576. Those are the only useless ones that they made AFAIK.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
