Post by krishnabudampati » 2018/04/19 06:32:41

Hi,

We have installed CentOS on a server.

After rebooting the server, If I gave ping from a client machine it was unsuccessful and We could not able to connect from a client machine using Putty.

We can connect this server only after connecting to the root user of the server.

Could you please help me on this issue.

Try the FAQ http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ - specifically bullet point #2.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
