Autofs Mounting Every Filesystem Shortly after it starts

Post by noj » 2018/04/20 20:12:03

Hello-

We've been using autofs in our environment for a long time now and have it set up so that every machine exports part of its local disk to the rest of the systems on our network. The auto.master files are pushed out to every machine so that automount will mount the volumes when a person enters the directory.

This works perfectly fine on Cent 6, however on our new Cent 7 builds, all of the volumes get mounted shortly after autofs starts up, regardless of whether someone has accessed them or not. If I do a df, it pauses for a while and then returns a list of 50+ network mounted file systems.

I tried setting the BROWSE_MODE option to "no" in /etc/sysconfig/autofs, but that didn't seem to make any difference. Would anyone have any idea what might be causing this behavior?
