How do i get Static IP's to work?

Post by Jon92 » 2018/07/22 00:57:29

Heres my ifcfg https://i.stack.imgur.com/AxQu7.png , https://i.imgur.com/9vP8fuO.png I can't get static IP's to work in bridged mode in Virtual Box, Currently trying in Fedora i have tried in CentOS i know they are the same family so im asking here as someone may know . I have NMCONTROLLED set to no, and I've also used these steps to turn off NetworkManager https://access.redhat.com/documentation ... nager.html , yet when I try and ping something it says "Network Unreachable".I've even used service network stop & start and restart. I've restarted the VM altogether and nothing.
I've heard bridge mode without NetworkManager causes issues is this true or what am I doing wrong? :?:

You've given it an ip address and subnet mask that does not encompass the ip you've given it for the gateway. IP=192.169.1.18 looks like a typo to me.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
