Can ping but can't browse
Centos 7 is running in my computer. Today, my computer is not able to browse in any one of the browsers, although I can ping the website. Can anyone tell me solution to this problem. I have stopped firewall but it is not working.
Re: Can ping but can't browse
Check DNS settings:
1. To commandline:
nmcli dev show | grep DNS
2. This is from my file /etc/resolv.conf (I have static IP adress):
[root@mypc log]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 8.8.4.4

Re: Can ping but can't browse
Info please:
When you "browse" you're using URLs, but your (successful) PINGs use IP addresses?? Is that what you're saying? If this is NOT the case, please specify EXACTLY how you attempt your connections, and the results/errors.
Details are your friend here. Knowing HOW you're trying to do something, and the messages received from the failures are VERY helpful.
To clarify, as no example was supplied:Today, my computer is not able to browse in any one of the browsers, although I can ping the website.
