CIFS is not working after update

Post by kaengo » 2018/12/17 14:55:04

Hello!

Up from today, I can't mount my samba shares at my centos 7.6
Yesterday, all worked fine (since several years)
I did no change at my NAS-Stations, they are running and the shares can be mounted from Windows-Machines without problems.

The error message is:

mount error(112): Host is down
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

I'm able to work on the shares using the network manager of dolphin and also using that of krusader.
But I have many applications, which don't show these ,network shares' which are not really mounted,
so I must mount them to a mount point!

Does anyone know the solution?

Greetings,
Holger

OK, I found the solution myself ...
(Always exciting again: The system is no longer working correctly, you need only to look a day, than you have it ......;-(

Inserting ...,vers=1.0,...in every line of fstab solved it for me.

Don't know, why it run so long time without these option, but suddenly not.

Same issue here last week, after the 7.6(1810) update. In my case I needed to add ...,vers=3.0 to get the CIFS shares to mount reliably.

Samba server:
File /etc/samba/smb.conf
Section [global]

# For NTLMv1 - Windows XP, MSCHAPv2 for VPN
ntlm auth = yes
lanman auth = yes
