Hi all,
My centos system is :
Linux version 3.10.0-327.3.1.el7.x86_64 (builder@kbuilder.dev.centos.org) (gcc version 4.8.3 20140911 (Red Hat 4.8.3-9) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Wed Dec 9 14:09:15 UTC 2015

I reinstalled my system several days ago and didn't install VMWare at all. But, today, I find that vmware-user-suid-wrapper appears in my Startup Applications, here is the details:

Code: Select all

name: VMware User Agent
commands:/usr/bin/vmware-user-suid-wrapper
I am not sure whether vmware-user-suid-wrapper is installed by CentOS by default, or my system is hacked.(I am hardening my system cause my cdrom is always ejected.)

Cheers
yao

A way to check is:
rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/bin/vmware-user-suid-wrapper
Answer provided by the package open-vm-tools
