No OVAL support now?

Post by kings_way » 2016/08/25 05:42:13

Hi, guys!
I am working on a project based on the oval definitions of each linux distribution.
After searching the net for a couple of days, I still could not find any timely updated oval files for Centos.

For the time being, I modify the oval files of RHEL(https://www.redhat.com/security/data/oval/) to make it compatible with Centos distributions.
However, there is still one problem that some package name in Centos may end with 'centos', and this cause some trouble to my program...

Anyway, I just want to know whether there is no longer OVAL support for CentOS or not...

As far as I know, the CentOS Project has never published OVAL data for CentOS.

Thanks for your reply!
Finally, I got a reason to give up searching OVAL for Centos...

Would you be willing to share your modifications to the RHEL oval files? We run RHEL 6, CentOS 6,7 and OEL 5,6,7. It would be nice if we could use the RHEL oval files as a base for checking ALL of our servers.

I am also interested in a good source for OVAL files for CentOS patch checking.
