CVE-2017-1000253 Kernel ELF security vulnerability

Post by mihaicoli » 2017/09/27 10:00:14

CVE-2017-1000253 Kernel ELF security vulnerability
It's confirmed: https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2017-1000253
Unfortunately for CentOS I was unable to find a fix. (https://access.redhat.com/security/vuln ... es/3189592), and RH requires active contract.
When? Where? How?
Thnx

Fixed in all 7.4 kernels - 3.10.0-693 and higher.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
