KRACK Vulnerability and WPA_supllicant update

Post by SirLurkalot » 2017/10/16 16:59:06

Is this update in the pipeline and is WiFi OK to use for non-critical activities in the meantime ?

Thanks

Wifi is just as secure today as it was yesterday :-)

No idea if/when RH will release fixed packages but this appears to be a vulnerability that was reported privately some time ago to give vendors time to prepare updates so hopefully it won't be long.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

I don't see an updated wpa_supplicant in RHEL 7. The newest version seems to be dated 01 Aug 2017. As for if it's OK to use, it's up to you.
