Springdale 8 and Oracle 8 were out a month before Centos. Couldn't they have used that to start compiling stuff?TrevorH wrote: ↑2019/09/25 20:19:30Many developers for EPEL rely on having a CentOS machine on which to build and test packages. That means that the process is a bit horse and cart so one has to be there for the other to be provided. Hopefully now that CentOS 8 is out, EPEL will catch up fairly quickly.
[sarcasm] You don't say?! I'm shocked!![/sarcasm] Every zxy.0 release has this problem. It happened with CentOS 7.0 as well. This is one of the reasons many people eschew installing xyz.0 releases, as the are buggy from the getgo. You need industrial strength RAID to kill all the bugs. I'm waiting until 8.1 or 8.2 is released before I dip my toes in the CentOS 8 waters. By 8.2 most of the major bugs will have been squashed.
Code: Select all
