When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
... and yes, the first tree is now available to the QA team. It is not a complete set but provides something to start testing with.
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Karanbir says, "We are now down to 2 failing packages". Also, the tree's for QA will be updated nightly.
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Last night Karanbir pushed the first iteration of the 5.5 tree to the QA servers and the QA team are downloading them, so testing has now begun.
The trees are not quite complete, but there is enough there for the QA team to begin testing some 5.4 -> 5.5 upgrade scenarios.
We'll report more as it happens :-)

Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
A note about package updates available from the upstream vendor. They are currently put on hold pending the release of CentOS 5.5. However, some of them are security patches (Firefox is marked critical, for example). CentOS devs are considering making those updates available and trying to figure out the best way to deliver them to users.
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
No new development to report so far ...
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
According to the latest news from the developer, some problem was identified for the build process. This was rectified and a number of packages are being rebuilt.
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
The rebuild process is still on-going ...
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Looks like refurbished trees might become available to the QA team very soon. But don't hold your breath (if you don't want to be suffocated). :-D
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Long time no news. Hope you are not holding your breath. :-? The only thing I can tell is that the developers are still "working on it".
Re: When will CentOS 5.5 be released?
Still no news to pass on. What I heard yesterday was that there are just a few packages that need to be finished. Then the new trees will be installable (with Anaconda) and we will also have the ISOs to play with ...
