Post by ltoso » 2010/01/19 09:29:00

Hi,
is there a tool that can monitor all the services running on my server for uptime and send me an email if any of the service goes down

Please recommend

perl-psmon (http://www.psmon.com/) is one I have used in the past for smaller number of systems.

Nagios can do that.

Max is, on occasion, on these forums. (There's also a version on the wiki, but I find the link above a bit clearer.)

It's not trivial to configure, but can be nice to have once it's in place.

Added a link to that HowTo on the Nagios Wiki page - thanks for the recommendation.

My pleasure--I think much of that wiki page was also written by Max. (Judging from the note at the bottom.)
