Desktop user pleasantly surprised by CentOS 7

Post by centocub » 2015/09/04 07:47:54

Hi,

being Ubuntu-spoilt I am pleasantly surprised what CentOS 7 can do on my tripleboot notebook, contrary to what I was told by critics what CentOS could not do :) I am looking forward to what the CentOS future will hold for me ;-)

Cheers,

Desktop... means Youtube, Skype and Spotify.

How are those working for you?

Wow, that would be a narrow choice! I adhere to RHEL's definition of desktop user as "enthusiasts using Linux in non-critical computing environments". No worries, I will test Youtube when I am back on CentOS (currently on Windows).

Just tested Youtube with CentOS 7, no problem. Should there be?

Skype works, too, out of the box, voice that is. Video not, but Centos is not to blame but myself! I deactivated my built-in USB webcam in Windows 8 months ago and have to figure it out how to reactivate it.

I do not use spotify.

Yeah I started using centOS a few weeks ago and I'm having no problem with either of those.

Even my cherished Brother DCP-135C prints and scans like a champion!
