I cannot find a group package named "development libraries" in Centos 6.
Have it been renamed, replaced or just removed since Centos 5?

Group package "development libraries" in Centos 6
I will suggest that you take at look at all the groups that are available by executing --
yum grouplist | less

yum grouplist | less
I cannot find any replacement for "development libraries". I need the group package for building ACE (Adaptive Communication Environment) and TrinityCore from the source. http://www.trinitycore.info/How-to:Linux

Perhaps a better way to resolve your current issue would be to show the errors that you see when attempting the above source builds. Sight of the errors my be sufficient for someone to tell you which packages are required to be installed.

I can confirm the group package 'Development Libraries' is not found with 'yum grouplist' in Centos 6.0 (both i686 & x86_64).
