i am 37, and i have been using CentOS for... a month or so, now.
i used to run Mandrake or RHEL, and now CentOS
Primarily just for a hobby server, but i hope to grow it to a hobby server-farm, eventually.

Your first account was deleted because we get a lot of spammers here who sign up with weird looking email addresses containing numbers and letters, just like yours, who then make single line "me too" responses to ancient threads with no substantive content... just like yours. To us, you looked just like yet another spammer. We have an mv spammer /dev/null policy here.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

hmm was browsing it was one of the top threads and caught my eye, especially since, my intention to share the place I am getting help from and it so happened the course had a 70% off the price sale that was expiring 20hours from the time I made that reply. was trying to help that is all.
I dont work from them, spam for them I doubt they have a referral system and even if they did no links were posted just the name. had nothing to gain.
Have a great day and thanks for activating this account.

Over a half-century old. Started using Linux, mostly at work, around 1992. Been in IT for over 30 years.
Fun fact: I actually had to punch Hollerith cards (google it) in a production environment back in the day.
My first computer was an abacus. I had to walk to the data center barefoot, in knee-deep snow, uphill, both ways.
But I was grateful for the dollar a day.

Been using it for about a week now, so far I really like it. Its a lot faster than ubuntu which Id been using for the past 6 years.

I started using linux with Slackware ~ 1997,
but then I moved to FreeBSD almost immediately, mostly cause I fell in love with the beastie (he's just adorable), working with businesses back in Italy, then I transferred here to California ~ 8 years ago still with FreeBSD...
and 5 years ago I was thrown into the RedHat world... and I have to say it's pretty cool I never really used debian or any other distributions as it really makes no difference
I completely stopped using FreeBSD as well, but I do miss it
