There is no package iconv-devel in CentOS7. iconv is part of glibc.

The program iconv is included in the package glibc-common.
The include file iconv.h is provided in the package glibc-headers.

pjsr2,

I have below packages of glibc installed on my server.

[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep -i glibc
glibc-devel-2.17-196.el7_4.2.x86_64
glibc-common-2.17-196.el7_4.2.x86_64
glibc-2.17-196.el7_4.2.x86_64
glibc-headers-2.17-196.el7_4.2.x86_64
[root@localhost ~]#

When I am trying to install iconv-devel, it is saying.

No package iconv-devel available.

Should I skip installing this package?

It's part of glibc
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
