1. Don't install 6.5. Get the latest (6.9).

2. Please rewrite your post so that you provide sufficient information on what your issue is.

That hardware is new enough so that 6.5 will not support it. If you must install CentOS 6 at all (why would you?) then you should be using the latest which is currently 6.9. There is a RHEL 6.10 in beta upstream at the moment but that's not yet released. In any case, 6.5 is over 4 years out of date and should not be used for anything in a production environment. Actually, remove "in a production environment", it just shouldn't be used.

You might want to question why you're using CentOS 6 at all. It's already in what's known as Production Phase 3 upstream which means that only critical security updates will be released for it. It now has approximately 2 years of life left. Far better to use CentOS 7 as it's newer, better supported and probably contains far better support for your new hardware than CentOS 6.

Whatever media you use to do the install, make sure you check your download's sha256sum against the list that we publish in the release notes for that specific version of CentOS to make sure your downloaded file is not corrupted. If you are copying the iso image to a USB Stick make sure you read http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey and avoid those utilities listed there as "broken". If you're using your iLO's virtual media function to attach the iso image to the machine as a virtual CD/DVD then make sure you have the most up to date firmware on the iLO.

The minimal install is not particularly suitable for a newbie. You might want to use the full DVD instead.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Then your application needs to change. No-one, anywhere, under any circumstances should be running 6.5. It's dangerous and should not be used. Do not do it.

Have you actually tried running the application on 6.9?

You need to educate your client. It's probably ignorance behind the request for 6.5.

No-one anywhere supports CentOS 6.5. At all.
