Binding CentOS 7.5 to Active Directory 2016

Post by jfha73 » 2019/02/13 21:02:08

Hey guys,

Does anybody have instructions on how to do this?

I have been trying, but it won't join a Windows Domain using Winbind and I cannot update to the latest kernel because it breaks the driver for an ATTO RAID card in the system, this card cannot be unplugged because the reason to bind/login using AD is to access what's connected to that RAID card.

If there are a few packages that need to be updated (other than kernel), it can be done, I already have the latest of samba-winbind and pam-krb5, but it won't join the Windows domain.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Update:

I finally was able to join a Windows Domain using the realm command, I can see the domain info when I run 'realm list', but when I try 'id user@example.com' I get a user does not exist message.

Any ideas?

Another update,

Using authconfig-gtk, I was able to configure it to use AD, I can now see users info when I type 'id user@example.com', but now I cannot login with AD users, what am I missing?

All I get is:

Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info and I don't know what causes that.

Any ideas?

I got this solved deleting the previous configuration from /etc/krb5.conf (this is what causing the problem), so I'm good with this one.
