Upgrade CentOS 6.6 to CentOS 7.6.

Post by hack3rcon » 2019/05/07 10:02:29

Hello.
I have a CentOS 6.6 web server with "Apache" and "Magento" CMS. My server is not OK and I want to reinstall a new CentOS web server and migrate the old server to it but I don't know how can I migrate it? How can I move Magneto website?
Any idea?

Thank you.

Probably Magneto consist with database and files, so You have to backup database and files and restore in new server.
Look to cron job to check extra script for Magneto if exist.
Read doc provide by Magneto, there will be explain how to configure server, etc.

There is no upgrade from CentOS 6 to 7. You will need to reinstall the system and your apps and migrate the date over.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Yes, it has DB and theme but for Magento, should I copy and paste the files manually?

To migrate a magento instance you need to read the docs for Magento. It's not something we supply.

Don't copy OS files.
If you neeed to change anything - do it after full reinstall.
